25 July 26:
Hey everyone! I apologize for the late post. It's been almost a week since returning from the Imaginarium Conference in Louisville, KY. It's a conference for writers and other artists/creators, including illustrators, actors, independent movie producers/directors, and an assortment of other creators. If you're an aspiring writer, I highly recommend attending. Not only are there great panels where a new writer can learn some useful tips and techniques, but this is a great opportunity for a writer to network with other writers and publishers. I got to see my friends and fellow Lemurs Clayton Barnett, Joseph Isenberg, Grathew, Rich Frazier, T.R Benjamin, and Michael Small. I also met some new friends and made new connections.
Currently, I'm working on making "Day Zero: Catalyst Crew" available directly on KDP. It's still "in review," but since it's already available on Amazon, hopefully it won't be an issue.
I'm also currently working on a short story for Marathonarium 4, which myself, Clayton, Joseph, Grathew, and T.R. Benjami collaborated with editor Stephen Zimmer and other great writers to make a multi-genre anthology. This is my third Marathonarium, and they're a lot of fun and a great experience.
Oh, I almost forgot..."Day Zero: Catalyst Crew" IS NOW AVAILABLE IN PRINT!!! The link is books2read.com/u/3nLWa5

Hey everyone! I apologize for the delay. My day job's been a little rough because we're short on coverage due to turnover and some unforeseen events. It's better this week, and they're hiring new folks, so things are looking up!
As you can see from the above date, we're approaching the twenty-fifth anniversary of 9-11 and the first anniversary of the Charlie Kirk assassination. This is a blog about the Weapons of Legend "universe" and writing those stories, and I want to avoid talking politics here. But as a veteran who deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, 9-11 is one of those world-changing days where everyone remembers where they were on that horrific day twenty-five years ago. After working night shift at my full-time job, I went to my National Guard unit to sign out a gas mask for OCS (Officer Candidate School) training. On my way home, the first plane hit. I was listening to WRKO when four hosts from two different talk radio shows were on the air together when the second plane hit, and as one, the world realized this was a deliberate terrorist attack. Despite being awake the previous night and having to return to work that night, I stayed glued to the TV all day until my wife, who was 8 months pregnant with my oldest son, returned home from work.
For the anniversary of Charlie Kirk's assassination, I'm outraged by the vile behavior of those "celebrating" his death. Whether one agrees with his views or not, there's no place for political violence in America. When one resorts to political violence, it's a sign they cannot defend their political views through debate.
Enough about politics. (Takes several deep breaths to lower blood pressure). Okay, I'm fine. Let's continue.
I'm still working on the Marathonarium 4 short story, but I finished the part with the pirates boarding the ship. It'll need some polishing during editing. Now, it's time to work on the No-Names boarding the derelict I named the "Sea Tiger". Yeah, I get it, it sounds like a seafaring vessel rather than a starship. Now, stay with me---the ship's original name was "Black Tiger," after a big cat species from Hartfan. The problem is that the pirate ship is already established as the "Red Adder." Black Tiger vs. Red Adder sounds, well, kinda stupid, so I changed the merchant ship's name. For context, a Sea Tiger is a Hartfanian fish similar to a barracuda but much bigger. Worldbuilding's so much fun!!!
Just imagine boarding a derelict ship eight hours after a 50-vs.-20 firefight, because that's what I'm doing now--and what I've come up with so far isn't pretty. And once you're acquainted with the No-Names, you'll know to expect "dark humor" from our soon-to-be favorite merc "wrecking crew."
Until next time. Stay safe
Hey, everyone! As I'm still building this website, I made the command decision to make separate pages for the Na'dari. At some point, I'll do the same for other factions, such as the Agnashi, Order of Wizards, and various orders of Sorcerers.

Hey everyone! It's been a while because I switched back and forth between Night Shift and Mids. I've got one more week working nights, then I'll be working Mids, which will be 12-hour shifts anywhere between 11 AM and 2 AM, depending on coverage. Still better than working nights, though.
Anyway, I'll be focusing on the Marathonarium 4 short story. Without giving too much away, space pirates attack a merchant ship. The mercenary "wrecking crew" known as the No-Names will divert from FTL to help, only to find it's too late. Their rescue mission becomes a recovery mission as they board the derelict merchant.
This is a continuation of "The No-Names: Misdirection," which appeared in the Marathonarium 3 anthology. As of now, I'm including a vicious fight between Captain Echmoz's pirates attacking a merchant ship and its Hartfanian crew. For context, Hartfan is a human-populated world known for great spacefarers, and like most Hartfanians, this merchant crew doesn't back down. When the pirates board the merchant, the results are brutal for both sides.
Whether I include the entire fight, or part of it, in Marathonarium 4 is still up in the air. However, the short story will also be included in a future "Tales from the Lemurverse" anthology, and hopefully the boarding will be featured there.
If you're interested, pictures of Captain Echmoz and his ship, the "Red Adder," are on the "Dreaded Pada Wyn" page. Like all pictures on this website, the pictures are AI-generated. They're good depictions, but not 100% accurate. (Sigh) Someday, I hope to have pictures by actual human artists, but we're not there yet.
